It was Leonardo DaVinci who invented the Geodesic Dome and not the Germans in 1922 (sorry folks or volks), Buckminster Fuller really only popularized them later on, and we owe him a lot.
Calling it the Polyhedron, (Da Vinci's drawing at left) for Fra Luca's book On Divine Proportion, written in 1509 now we call this type of Dome a 2 Frequency.
And while the Polyhedron is missing the divisions across the pentagon, it is still close enough.
The carbon atom named the Bucky ball by scientists (to honor Fuller), is this correct-should it be the Da Vinci ball?
